By way of background, information is generally classified into 2 main categories, as follows:
PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION [PII]:
PII refers to information that lets us know the specifics of who a User is and might include: the Users’ name, e-mail address, SS Number, payment information, etc. If any PII is disclosed, Users have the opportunity and option to choose (opt out) whether their Personal Identifiable Information is (1) to be disclosed to a third party or (2) to be used for a purpose other than the purpose for which it was originally collected or subsequently authorized by the User. For ‘Sensitive Personal Information’ [SPI], a User also has the opportunity and option to affirmatively or explicitly (opt out) or consent to the disclosure of the SPI for a purpose other than the purpose for which it was originally collected or subsequently authorized by the User.
NON-PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION:
This information consists of general information that normally does not by itself identify a specific individual. For example, this information may include, by way of example, the User’s “URL” (Uniform Resource Locator), what browser a User is using, and a Users’ Internet Protocol (“IP”) address (collectively the ‘User Information’). If any such User Information is disclosed, NL has the right to freely use, license, sell, rent, or provide the User Information to a third party, either directly or through an NL affiliate.
Protecting the privacy of minors is especially important to us. For that reason we never knowingly collect or maintain information from those that we have actual knowledge that a User is a minor, and NL does not knowingly solicit any Information from minors.
